Christian Faith in Excellence
CHRISTIAN FAITH IN EXCELLENCE 2
Elaborate on the idea that Christians ought to strive for excellence in all they do. Consider the following
question: What are 3 ways that one’s Christian faith motivates him or her toward excellence in writing?
The discussion must incorporate how this idea applies to writing, citing, plagiarizing, and paying attention
to detail. Support your answer by providing specific examples.
Christian Faith in Excellence
Christianity promotes certain principles and practices that the adherents ought to consider
in their daily lives. Based on this argument, there are certain ways that a Christian can utilize his
or her faith as a source of motivation towards excellence in such activities as writing. To begin
with, writing is an effective approach of spreading knowledge to a considerable portion of the
general populace. This is possible by focusing on topics aimed at improving the lives of other
individuals. This is substantiated by Paul when he indicates, “Rendering service with a good will
as the Lord and not man, knowing that whatever good anyone does this he will receive back from
the Lord, whether he is a slave or free” (Ephesians 6: 7-8).
Moreover, the Bible indicates that integrity is a key virtue that all Christians should
portray in their daily existence (Roberts, 2007). With reference to writing, it is important for
adherents to use their Christian faith in order to execute such activities in an honorable manner.
This includes avoiding plagiarism and acknowledging the works of certain authors incorporated
in one’s paper. In the Bible, this argument is substantiated by the words of Paul embedded in
Philippians 4:8. This verse states, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any
excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Another way that Christians can use their faith as a source of motivation for excelling in
such activities as writing entails the promised reward on earth when one works hard in
everything he or she executes. Based on the words of the Bible, enhancing one’s skillfulness in

writing will result in various privileges on earth. For this reason, Christians should work hard
when executing such activities as writing. This is in line with the words in Proverbs 22:29, which
states, “Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand
before obscure men”.
